A new year has come, and it will bring plenty. After an exciting year 2017 where I qualified as a massage therapist, started my massage business and already attended some additional massage-related trainings, 2018 will be a year of consolidation on the massage front, and learning on the movement front.
Here is some of what I’ll be learning, and will enrich the content of this blog, as well as what I can bring to clients.
At all levels of movement and exercise, knowing how to gain flexibility reliably, safely, and relatively quickly is a strong asset. Emmet Louis has studied mobility from many angles, and will be presenting the latest combinations of techniques in a workshop that I intend to attend. From what I’ve read I already have some correct ideas, and I’m looking forward to learning more.
Natural movement is one of my passions, and I love how the MovNat team presents it. They’re all about learning the skills and getting the strength and mobility to be able to act as a “wild” human (understand, a human in their natural environment). I’m looking forward to discovering the modality in vivo after having followed them on the internet for a while. And who knows, maybe a future qualification?
As a martial artist, I’ve worked with qigong at some level for more than half of my life now, and recently I’ve become more and more curious about how this modality can help people stay in good health. I will attend my first health qigong workshop very soon, and potentially qualify to teach at some point in the future.
